Our congratulations go to Dr Peter Pocock and to Dr Matthew Anstey who were ordained deacons (of the 'permanent' kind) on November 30 at St Saviour's Cathedral, Goulburn.
Peter is Academic Secretary and Lecturer in Theology & Liturgy in the School of Theology of Charles Sturt University. Peter is a PhD in Music as well as having degrees in theology. He also has experience in teaching diaconate students in the USA.
Matthew is an ARC research fellow and Lecturer in Old Testament Studies at St Mark's National Theological Centre. Matthew teaches 1/3 of the time and researches 2/3 of the time. His research fellowship was awarded to him to engage with a world-wide group of scholars who are constructing an Ancient Hebrew Lexicon (dictionary/thesaurus). Matthew has one of two ARC scholarships awarded to CSU staff in 2006.
